The official inauguration ceremony of the new Texas State University building was attended by the Governor of Querétaro, Mauricio Kuri González, along with academic authorities.
Colón, Querétaro — November 6, 2025. In a ceremony that brought together state authorities, international academic leaders, and student representatives, Elisia Education Hub celebrated the official inauguration of the new Texas State University (TXST) building, alongside its first student generation at the Mexico campus located in Colón, Querétaro.
This new facility becomes part of Elisia Education Hub’s world-class infrastructure, further strengthening its American university model, the only one of its kind in Mexico. This model offers an academic experience based on international standards, granting a degree fully valid in the United States while expanding global employability, professional mobility, and competitive development opportunities without borders.
More than a physical expansion, this collaboration with Texas State University represents a strategic platform to advance higher education in Mexico and to shape a new generation of global leaders.
This educational hub reflects Elisia’s commitment to providing first-class facilities and spaces designed to enhance learning and collaboration. The new building will accommodate more than 1,000 students and has been conceived as an environment that promotes critical thinking, interdisciplinary innovation, and the creation of solutions to major local and global challenges.
During the event, Governor Mauricio Kuri praised the work of Elisia Education Hub:
“For me, it is a true source of pride to say that the University of Texas is in Querétaro, and that its students graduate with dual degrees—an extraordinary competitive advantage,” he stated.
The governor also noted that “one out of every three students in Querétaro comes from outside the state, viewing it as a major center for education. This makes us proud because it strengthens Querétaro’s innovation and technological development ecosystem, giving us a competitive edge.”
Kelly Damphousse, President of the Texas State University System, emphasized the global impact of this international expansion:
“This alliance with Elisia Education Hub represents a model of educational innovation that opens opportunities for new generations and strengthens the bond between academia and industry. We are proud to be part of this transformative project.”
Alexandra Strong, Vice Chancellor of Elisia Education Hub, added:
“With this new stage, we reaffirm that education knows no borders. Texas and Mexico share a legacy built on friendship, collaboration, and hope—values that come to life today with the inauguration of this new building and inspire us to look toward a shared future of growth and opportunity.”
Ricardo González, President of Elisia Education Hub, stated:
“This collaboration with Texas State marks a strategic milestone in Elisia Education Hub’s mission to consolidate an ecosystem of borderless opportunities that foster academic mobility, global competitiveness, and the development of internationally minded talent.”
Larry Rubin, President of the American Society of Mexico, remarked:
“Texas State University represents key values—not only Texan ones, but also those that define North America. Mexico and the United States share a special brotherhood that has endured for centuries, and Texas, in particular, has always maintained that close connection with Mexico.”
Students from the first generation of Texas State University Querétaro added an emotional touch to the event, sharing how access to an international education in Mexico is opening doors to a global future.
The new academic building not only expands Elisia Education Hub’s infrastructure but also reinforces the institution’s commitment to the economic and social development of the region, preparing talent ready to integrate immediately into the state’s productive sectors.
